She watched as he produced the small flames, giving an approving nod. He seemed to have grasped the concept rather well. Now it was her turn.
”…Focus….right.” She shut her eyes, her hands moving to her sides as she put all her concentration on going back on the ground. Despite the fact that she wasn’t very high above the floor, the mere notion that her feet weren’t touching the ground kind of panicked her, though she was hiding it rather well.
And so slowly, her body lowered itself until her feet steadily touched the ground, the glow surrounding her slowly dissipating as she smiled at him.
”Hm, truly an interesting power.”
“O-oh I should mention… it’s amplified by emotion…” Was this a good idea to tell her? It’d be better than not telling her and it actually happening.
“… so, if say you floated too high and your fear of heights kicked in, it might get out of hand and you’d be sent even higher instead of lower. I-it’s not all bad though! Eventually it kicks in for good things too… like when we… first kissed.”
”And I seem to have too much control over everything.” She chuckled, managing to float somewhat upright with a little struggling before continuing. ”Let’s see… Think of the flames like… an untamed pet. You have to be gentle and slow with it. Cautious. Do not seek to control it, but instead to have it sync with you.”
Silver flicked a couple fingers and a small controlled arc of fire spun out of the motion. It was improvement, at least in control. “I think I understand… but it’s hard to let go, for me…”
“As far as my powers go… uhh… it’s kind of the opposite. I mean, you don’t need some real advanced training for it, Chaos knows I didn’t. You just… have to think a lot. It’s really hard to explain how this works. Activating it is easy, being accurate requires Focus.”
